Don't you know who I am?

Well, er, actually, I'm not sure.  Do you mind if I just double check?

The M&S cyber attacks earlier this year highlighted several ways the hackers tried to gain access to the systems.  One of them was quite simple - call up the IT team and ask them to reset a user password.  It exposed the fact that the IT helpdesk team did not know every end user personally, so how could they verify the person on the phone was who they said they were?   At 4Cambridge we reviewed our support procedures and have introduced some additional checks to ensure that only legitimate requests get processed.

So if you ring up the 4Cambridge helpdesk and ask for your password to be reset - please don't be offended if we carry out some checks to confirm who you are first.
